First November Chili


Jamie was coming home on a redeye flight from California and I wanted to welcome her the right way, so I invented (to my knowledge) breakfast chili.  To make the breakfast chili, I started by making home fries (potato, onion, celery and garlic, pan-seared in bacon fat). Then I pretty much made chili on top of that, though this chili meat was ground turkey.  Other highlights included the small amount of turnip and watermelon radish that went into the mix. I cooked it overnight and come morning it was ready for her and the feeling was mutual.
